Location: Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Washington, USA
Dates: June 28-29, 2025
In late June 2025, I climbed a North Cascades classic, Mount Shuksan via the Sulphide Glacier route, over two days/one night. The summit pyramid snow gully was still in, so we ascended roughly 300m via 50-60 degree firm snow, with a brief scramble to the stop, and rappelled (4 pitches of 60m) down. The Sulphide Glacier was in great condition with minimal cracks - it made for a beautiful cruise up at sunrise from the bivy camp.
