Spring Ski Touring at Hišimy̓awiƛ

Cost: $30 per person per night

Description: Enjoy four days of spring ski touring at Hišimy̓awiƛ. On April 25, we will meet at the Marion Main turnoff from Highway 4 at 11:00 AM. We will convoy as far as possible to the trailhead but some skiing on MM may be needed. From the trailhead, we will boot pack and then skin our way to the Hut. April 26 and 27 will be ski touring from the Hut, with destinations to be decided based on interest and conditions at the time. April 28, we will pack up and descend.

Skills/fitness needed: B3. Participants must have at least AST1. You must be comfortable skiing/riding off-piste and carrying an overnight pack up 700m or more. Gear needed: AT or telemark skis or splitboard with skins that fit and avalanche gear (3-antennae beacon, shovel and probe. Can be rented from ACCVI – gear@accvi.ca)

Max participants: 8 participants (must be members of the ACC, preference given to Vancouver Island section members.)
