Come and learn about some of the early history of the Section when Francis Morgan-Grant from the UK will give a talk on the life of one of the section’s pioneer members, ‘Rusty’ Westmorland. A lifelong climber in Europe and Canada, Rusty came to Canada in 1911 and worked with a mountain survey party run by Arthur Wheeler, the founder of the Alpine Club of Canada and later made significant climbing ascents in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island, some of which have been rarely repeated.
