(revised) Highlands 4-Peaks Challenge: Mt Work, Mt Seymour, Mt Scafe, Mt Stewart (Part 2)

This is the second half of the ‘7 Peaks Hike’, with the first 3 peaks completed on Dec 2 (new participants welcome!)

Pace: moderate to fast-paced

Description: From the Mt Work/Munn road parking lot, we will hike up Mt. Work (449m) for an ascent of 260m, after which we will loop around and descend back down to Munn Rd and then hike into Thetis and ascend 70m to the top of Mt Stewart (266m). Another descent and ascent of 48 m up Mt Scafe (232m), and finally our last ascent is 86m up Mt Seymour (141m). We will track back towards McKenzie Creek and make our way into Francis King park and back to the parking lot.

Our total ascent will be about 758m, with a maximum elevation gain of 445m, over a distance of about 19km.

Expect to be on the trail for about 6.5-7.5 hours moving at a moderate-fast pace with a few breaks to enjoy the views from summits and stop for lunch along the way.

Bring: food, water, hiking poles, gear for all weather, $2 for shuttle driver.

Car shuttle: Volunteer shuttle drivers are required. Everyone will meet at the Francis King Regional Park-Main Parking lot at 8am where we will shuttle to Mt Work parking lot on Munn Road and start our 4-peaks challenge by 8:30am.
