Ragged Mountain (B2)
Beginning at the Sooke Hills Wilderness parking lot on Sooke Road, we will take the Veitch Carriageway to the Secret/Shepherd Creek Trail, followed by the Ayum Creek Trail to access Ragged Mountain. Beautiful views await after a steady climb to the summit (weather permitting!).
This hike is about 16km and will be approximately 6-7 hours long including a break for lunch (depending on the speed of the group and level of interest in flora and fun antics). Trails vary from well-maintained to route-like, with some steep, wet and slippery sections.
We will be departing the trailhead at at 9:00am. Please arrive no later than 8:50am to sign waivers, etc.
Suitable for all members with a reasonable level of fitness. No dogs please.
Conditions on the day may necessitate an alternative destination.
