Title: An evening with award-winning Catherine Babault: Vancouver Island Marmot Images & Observations
Catherine will share her passion and rare images of the Vancouver Island marmot in its natural habitat. Come ask questions about her challenges & successes capturing images of pups play-fighting, adults collecting dry grass for the burrow, and marmots on the look-out for predators. She will talk about this marmot’s endangered status, its behaviour, diet, appearance, and the positive impact of conservation efforts.
Bonus: You may have seen this summer’s video of Grizzly cubs, proving that grizzlies are here on the Island. Catherine is the one who filmed it. She says we can ask about that also.
Bonus Bonus: Catherine has sold out 2 of the 3 books she published, but will bring some copies of her latest coffee table book for sale: Wild Vancouver Island. 42.00 incl tax.
Swan Lake Nature House doors open 7:00pm Thursday Nov 14 for half an hour of chatting with friends & newcomers. Coffee, tea & snacks by donation before the 7:30 announcements and Catherine’s presentation.
