Description: This true little mountain adventure right in Victoria’s backyard will involve a mix of rock scrambling and hiking on secret paths. Travel will be mostly in open terrain south of the McDonald summit and on the Stick bumps, with a few steep cliffs and short bushy sections along the way. Some of the spots are exposed and can be slippery when wet. A good level of fitness and confidence in steep terrain are essential. The trip is particularly suitable for aspiring mountaineers are advanced hikers who want to leave established routes behind them. Length: Approx. 10 km. Notes: Conditions of the day may necessitate an alternative date. Required gear: hiking or mountain boots with good ankle support, extra layers, rain gear, water, lunch, snacks, 10 essentials. Hiking poles may be useful for portions of the route. No dogs please.
