Kings Peak

This is a long, steep and challenging hike. Starting at the trailhead at 11am on Saturday September 30th, we will backpack to the meadow and set up camp. Day 2 we will attempt the summit, then head back to camp and stay one more night. Finally, on Monday October 2nd we will pack up camp and hike back down the trail. Approximately 18km round trip.

Participants must be able to backpack and hike at a steady moderate pace on steep and varied terrain. Creek crossings, loose rock/soil, scrambling and some exposure are involved.

This trip will be postponed if the weather does not cooperate.

Required Gear: Hiking boots with good tread, backpack and camping gear, headlamp, extra layers and other essentials.

Strongly Recommended: Hiking poles.

Potential for carpooling. When you RSVP please indicate whether you can offer a ride to 2-3 others and where you live.

Maximum: 8 people.
