Kings Peak Summit Solo Overnight

Just completed a quick solo overnight trip to the summit of Kings Peak where I camped on the summit.

Overall the trail is in great condition as it has been almost 5 years since I was up there. The wash out section below the lower meadow has several hand lines now which makes getting up the loose gravel much easier. The water in the lower meadow is extremely heavy with glacial silt, the upper meadow is the perfect water source just before the gully to the West Ridge. On the summit there is a big finger of snow for melting where the North Spur tops out and also a tiny tarn left which might refill if we get rain this week. Also in the lower meadown there is now a pit toilet and bear cache.

I searched everywhere but the Summit Register Tube (with the awesome old logo ACC sticker) is gone. There is a good register (50% left) which I left out to dry for 3 hours, it was in a bread bag. I rebuilt the cairn a bit nicer & stronger and then had a spare ziploc in my pack so put the register in that and then double bagged it with the bread bag that was up there.
