My plans for this weekend didn’t work out, so I’m looking at doing a single long day (or maybe 1.5 days) of hiking, scrambling, or climbing somewhere along highway 4 between Port Alberni and Ucluelet. The objective is flexible depending on the capabilities and comfort levels of participants. Potential objectives include Canoe Peak, Adder Mountain, Dragon Ridge, or one of the summits of Triple Peak.
- Dates: either Sunday, August 2 or Monday, August 3
- Meeting point: potential carpool from Victoria (split fuel costs), or meet along the route
- Group size: maximum 4 participants
- Pace: moderate to fast
- Risks: will vary by objective, but will include the typical mountain hazards such as slips/trips/falls, rockfall, weather, exposure, navigational challenges, etc.
