Are you looking to get out on rock, maybe for the first time? Are you in need of climbing partners? Introducing a new component to your rope system? Just want to climb with other ACC members?
Come out for Community Climbing, this week at Fleming Beach. Work with other climbers to refine your skills, or just come out for a few after-work laps.
Two ropes will be set up for climbing and skills practice. Speak to one of the trip leaders if you’re interested in brushing up on your skills or learning equipment to ensure everything is done in a controlled and safe manner for the whole group.
Set up will start around 4:30 pm, with climbing from 5:00 pm until dark (~7:30).
We’ll have some group discussion and practice of anchor building for sport climbing, and safe rappel technique.
You must have an Esquimalt Climbing Pass available at the Esquimalt Recreation Center (527 Fraser Street) between 6am and 10pm for an annual price of $12.
Non-members are welcome, waivers will be available for signature.
