Cokely via CPR Trail to Jewel Lake (Sept 6-7, 2025)

Our group sets off - all smiles and no blisters! (yet). Despite mixed forecasts, the weather ended up being sunny and warm.

The trail was loaded with wild blueberries, and we rarely missed an opportunity to indulge.

They were delicious!

We also spotted some interesting mushrooms.

Parts of the hike were quite steep, and involved scrambling, but the views were worth it. We reached the top of Mount Cokely and descended down to Jewel Lake to set up camp.

Reaching Jewel Lake was an absolute highlight. The water was crystal clear and cool. After a long day of climbing, we wasted no time hopping in for an evening dip.

We camped right by the lake.

Sunrise was beautiful.

That morning, we packed up our camp, stashed some of our gear and headed in the direction of Mount Arrowsmith with day packs. We reached a beautiful peak to the southwest of Jewel Lake. Views were clear and our timing was perfect, as it fogged over later that morning.

Overall, it was a great trip!
