Big day out - 5040 - Adder traverse, CD 3

Sporty day trip which packs in lots of great touring and skiing into a long day (3 summits, each with a great ski descent). Participants need to be fit or stubborn, being both helps. Car to car is about 12 hours in good conditions, be braced for more. We wont be racing, just continuous steady pacing. The majority of this traverse is in good touring and skiing terrain – however getting in and out of the alpine zone involves steep trail (posthole potential), steep & squirrely uphill skiing, steep tree skiing with an unfortunately shallow snow pack, longish logging road ski out (partially melted out). Recent ski touring outings are essential.

AVI gear & AST 1, Ibuprofen, extra socks, light packs

I can’t make this trip but would be interested in a future trip. I’m hoping to get up to 5040 at end of April so hope snowpack will still be OK.
