Just an update for people trying to acquire new backcountry ski gear. I just went to Coastal Ski in Victoria and they are out of almost every size of boot (esp if you have larger feet (29) as I do …).
The orders are placed in March, factories in Europe produce gear in the summer, and by late summer / early Fall it arrives and starts to get sold.
Sure hope all these new folks getting out into the backcountry know their avalanche safety skills!
