Not a trip report - but a caution that the wasps seem to be active early and are already vicious this year, at least in the South Island /Sooke hills. We had 4 separate incidents of disturbing nests on the ground last week, with 6 out of 8 of us being stung multiple times. Especially watch out for the forest duff and places you can’t clearly see where you’re putting your feet - heavy bushwhacking not advised!
Good idea to carry antihistamines too.
