On my birthday I usually go up mountain spend one night by my self. This year I wanted to do a bit different therefore I ask anyone want to come along for the over night hike to Mt. Roberts. Eight people signed up for the trip .The weather a bit of questionable but we decided to go hoping to have sunny day.

My plan was we camp at logging road bottom of Mt. Roberts on Saturday and next day hike up to Roberts the Needle. We talk about my plan, every body want to go up near by Mt. Kitchener except my self.

After Ken and I checked logging road to Roberts we drove up trail head of Mt. Kitchener where we decided to spend a night. While every body go up Mt. Kitchener I started cooking and relax enjoyed being mountain. It was nice view we can see Campbell River right to the south. It was a bit chilly but we sit around camp fire and feeling good.

Next morning we left camp site at 9 and drive down to starting point of Mt. Robert. We got bottom Roberts and I pointed out to Josh where route to go. Josh was in-charge of lead up I was last one to go follow them very slow, from logging slash to old growth forest it was quite nice hike up. We got summit around 1 PM I believe. We had nice view to Coast Mountain and Johnstone strait to east I even notice Mt.Waddington.

I was planing to go Needle but a bit far and not enough time to go so, we ditched our plan.

We explored summit plateau then hiked down slowly and go back to where we parked our vehicles and drive home. I was nice hike I was tired but enjoyed every minutes of it.

Thank you every one. Tak
